the short version

SOMA RESET is a private practice space. The things you write down, the states you track and the patterns you choose to name belong to you. We store what you enter so you can see your patterns over time, and we never sell it or use your personal reflections for advertising.

We do use limited information about app installs and purchases to understand whether our advertising is working. Where permitted, this may involve sharing an advertising or device identifier with our advertising measurement provider. It never includes your journal entries, reflections, check-ins, map, drawings or anything you type into Ask Saddy.

what we collect

  • Account basics — your email, your sign-up date, the name you give yourself in the app.
  • Your reflections — the journal entries you write, the daily reflections you record, and the moments you choose to name, in your own words.
  • Your check-ins — how you’re feeling when you check in, on the home screen and after a practice.
  • Your map — the triggers and patterns you choose to name.
  • Free draw — anything you draw is saved to your account so you can return to it.
  • Practice activity — which practices you start and finish, and how long they ran.
  • Reminder settings — the times you choose and the device token used to deliver them.
  • Advertising measurement — limited events such as installing the app or completing a purchase, together with a device or advertising identifier where available and permitted. We use this to understand which advertising led people to SOMA RESET. It never includes the personal things you record inside the app.
  • How the app gets used — a small set of product analytics events (things like starting the reset or finishing a practice) so we can see what’s actually helping. This never includes the words you write.

what we never collect

  • Your location.
  • Your contacts, photos, or calendar.
  • Your reflections, journal entries, check-ins, map, drawings or Ask Saddy conversations for advertising or third-party tracking. None of the personal things you share inside SOMA RESET are used to advertise to you.
  • Your data for sale to other parties — ever.

where your data lives

Your data lives in an encrypted database hosted by Supabase. Each user’s rows are protected by row-level security, which means even we can’t read your reflections or your map without your account.

Your drawings sit in private storage that only your account can open. Practice audio and imagery are part of the app itself — they aren’t tied to you.

Product analytics are handled by PostHog, kept separate from the content of what you write.

when the app talks to other services

A few parts of soma reset need to hand something to someone else to work. This is the whole list.

  • Advertising measurement — we may send our advertising measurement provider a limited event when the app is installed or a purchase is completed, together with a device or advertising identifier where permitted. This helps us understand whether our advertising led to an install or membership. On iPhone, tracking only occurs after you have given permission through Apple’s tracking prompt. Your journal, reflections, check-ins, map, drawings and Ask Saddy conversations are never sent for this purpose.
  • Ask Saddy — the in-app guide is powered by Anthropic’s Claude. What you type in that conversation is sent to Anthropic to generate a reply, along with a little context so she can answer you properly: the name you go by, how far through the path you are, what you said you’re drawn to and what you said feels hardest, whether you’re a member, and the single most recent check-in word you chose. It is not used to train any model, and it’s not kept by Anthropic beyond what’s needed to answer you. Your journal entries, your map and anything you draw are never sent.
  • Reminders — when you turn notifications on, your phone is given an anonymous token by Apple (on iPhone) or Google (on Android), and we hand your reminder to them to deliver it. They get the token and the words in the reminder, nothing else — never your journal, your check-ins or anything you draw.
  • Payments — card payments on the website are handled by Stripe, and purchases inside the app go through Apple, with RevenueCat keeping track of what you’ve bought. We never see or store your card number.
  • Email — your email address is held in our mailing system so we can send the things you asked for: sign-in codes, class confirmations, and the reset emails if you’re on them. You can unsubscribe from anything that isn’t essential to your account.

None of these are given your reflections, your journal, or anything you draw.

how long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. The patterns only become visible over time, so putting an expiry on your own words would defeat the point of the app.

  • Everything in your account — your reflections, journal entries, check-ins, your map, your drawings, practice history and reminder settings — stays while your account is open, and is deleted when you delete your account.
  • After you delete — it all goes at once, permanently. There is no soft delete and no recovery window. Anything left in a routine encrypted backup is overwritten within 30 days.
  • Product analytics — kept for one year, then removed automatically. These never include the words you write.
  • Your email address — stays in our mailing system until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
  • Ask Saddy — we don’t store the conversation on our servers once the reply comes back.

deleting your account

You can delete your account from the Me tab (or email us at hello@saddybabu.com). Deletion removes your account and the records tied to it — your reflections, journal entries, the moments you named, your map, your drawings, practice history, and reminder schedule. If anything ever seems to linger, email us and we’ll remove it by hand.
